Best Electronic Album of 2021:
Koreless - Agor [Young]
Despite the breadth of incredible albums that came out in 2021, Agor decisively claims my top spot. It’s a record unlike anything that I’ve ever heard before. On his debut LP, Koreless manipulates electronic sound like no other; the Welsh mastermind contorts vocal samples into a dizzying array of forms, from melodies and percussive sequences to bass patterns and chord progressions. Scintillating digital elements blend with baroque harpsichord and cinematic bass in a structurally fluid yet utterly unpredictable masterpiece.

Best Electronic Track of 2021:
Atjazz, Rocco Rodamaal, Keith Thompson - Break 4 Love (Atjazz Galaxy Aart Dub) [Memories]
One of the finest deep house tracks in existence comes courtesy of the mastermind himself, Atjazz. Incomparably smooth from the onset and throughout, it’s a tune that evolves beautifully from mysterious, chiming melodies and moody vocal swells to bouncy chord stabs and blissful pads. A shuffling rhythm, flecked with UKG, bolts everything together and propels it directly onto the dancefloor. Occupying a strange and captivating space, this is music that blends darkness with light, and seriousness with elation, in an inimitable way.
